My name is Keith Smith, also known as Afrokilla. I’m a Chicago based artist currently jamming out public art murals, live painting at events and creating art pieces with raw, colorful expression that bursts out of every piece. Let’s connect!
This website is a collection of my artwork as I learn and grow through all of my experiences in Chicago. I received my Graphic Design degree in 2012 from The Illinois Institute of Art then suddenly became interested painting and creating street art. My goal is to promote positive thinking and happiness while maintaining a groovy flow. Personal influences that impact my style are skateboarding, pop culture, psychedelic era, and urban culture that constantly develop synchronized moments. Art will forever tell stories and I want to invite everyone to learn and grow organically together.
Most stories shine through creating eye catching public art, giving unwanted space what it deserves. I am a firm believer that visual aesthetics in any environment play an important role that will impact your life forever. So why not say, fuck it! and make life more colorful?
I’m currently working out of my studio at The Pilsen Art & Design center on commissions while also moving and grooving around local communities, taking action on how art is impacting the world. You can find upcoming shows where I showcase artwork and live paint for audiences on the EVENTS page here on my site!
Please, enjoy viewing my creative process. My site contains of a wide range of projects I've worked on with stories and galleries to share. I'm always grinding away in the studio to create more and more so stay tuned for those updates! Thank you for connecting.
Keep it groovy.
